Why is shopping for baby the most overwhelming thing ever?! There are SO many products out there that *everyone recommends* and it can get confusing to navigate what is actually really useful and not a waste of money. Though I am just another opinion in the mix, I thought I would share my most used products with Camryn in case it’s helpful for anyone out there.
- Floating duck thermometer: this is essential for bath time! Pop it in the tub to check the water temp and feel confident that the water is at optimal temp for your little one!
- Hatch nightlight & sound machine: this one is great because it serves as a clock, an adjustable nightlight for those late night feeds, AND a fully adjustable sound machine as well. Its nice because you can control it with an app so turn the volume up/down, pick from a wide range of sounds, choose the light color you prefer, etc.
- Brezza bottle sterilizer & dryer: I truly never realized how time consuming washing bottles is so this is a game changer! We hand wash our bottles, pop them in the brezza, and the machine sterilizes each individual piece of the bottle AND dries it for you in 30 minutes!
- Cozy spot reversible activity gym & play mat: we move Camryn around a lot and so the more places you can put your little one (so they don’t get bored), the better.
- Baby Bjorn Bouncer seat: this is SO necessary. If you think about it… until your baby can walk, all they can do is lay around. So again (like I mentioned above), the more seats/ mats/ etc. you have the better! Camryn LOVES this thing and it comes with a spinner toy attachment that has become her very favorite toy.
- Diaper caddy: I suppose this one isn’t 100% necessary but it sure has made our lives easier. We have multiple stations set up in our house of these bad boys. They house diapers, wipes, extra burp cloths, pacifiers, etc!
- Weighted wipe dispenser: this thing is so nice because you only have to use one hand to grab a wipe since its weighted. SUPER nice for quick diaper changes.
- Owlet Dream Duo Sock: This is a great in-room baby monitor. Your baby wears a little sock and it helpstrack their heart rate, breathing, etc. which is great for peace of mind. We also use it as just a monitor (without the sock) for naptime. I love that it connects with an app on your phone.
- Bath seat: this thing is great for the days when your baby cannot sit up on their own. This one seems to be comfy and dries well.
- VAVA portable monitor: I am 100% convinced everyone needs a built-in monitor as well as a portable monitor for naps in other rooms or travel. We put Camryn in her bassinet in our bedroom and use this monitor until we join her for bed. Its great.
- Nose Frida: the nose sucker above all nose suckers. Get one of these (don’t use the ball nose sucker they use in the hospital)- just do it.
