A couple months ago I did my very first Prolon cleanse and I’m not going to lie… I was SO nervous! I’m a foodie and as pathetic as it sounds I truly look forward to a days worth of eating LOL. This cleanse came highly recommended by several of my friends and so I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad that I did! I am actually doing it again in a couple weeks to start out the new year. Seriously no better way to jumpstart your healthy goals.
Obviously there are many reasons people have for doing cleanses: weight loss, cellular rejuvenation, kickstarting a healthier lifestyle, and more. For me, I chose to do Prolon to kick my insane sugar cravings and get me back on track to a healthier lifestyle. I was tired of feeling tired, bloated, and addicted to sugar and Prolon was my way to combat that. After day 5 I felt lighter (6 lbs to be exact!), WAY more rested, less bloated, and I didn’t have the same cravings I had before.
I posted a Q&A on stories after getting SO many questions regarding Prolon so I thought I would write a blog post on it and save it where you could always access the info! Here are the most common questions I received:
What is it?
ProLon® is a 5-day dietary program that provides nourishment while supporting rejuvenating changes, including supporting metabolic health*.
The ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet® gives many of the benefits of a fast while providing delicious food to help fight hunger, lose fat, and protect lean body mass*. Get a trimmer waistline* and many of the associated benefits of fasting without requiring ongoing lifestyle changes, such as long-term dieting.
*Benefits seen in a clinical study of the 5-day ProLon cycle once a month for three consecutive months.
How long does it last?
The cleanse is a 5-day program. I recommend starting the cleanse on a Sunday or Monday so that you can still enjoy your weekend cleanse-free!
How much does it cost?
The cleanse is regularly priced at $249 HOWEVER if you use code “LaurynLately” you can get 10% off your order here!
How much weight do people lose on average?
The purpose of Prolon is to trigger cellular rejuvenation however weight-loss can occur. Everyone is different though! In a clinical study based on 3 consecutive month cycles, participants lost on average 5.7lbs. I personally lost 6lbs in 5 days my first round.
Is it hard?
I think kicking habits in general is difficult but this was by far the easiest plan I’ve ever followed. I didn’t feel as hungry as I thought it would. I think the hardest part for me was eating the same soup for dinner each night. The minestrone soup is good (Zach even likes it!) but anything consumed 5 days in a row can get a little old in my opinion. I did appreciate the fact that you actually eat way more than I thought you would on the plan.
Any tips to making the 5 days easier?
YES! Here are my biggest tips:
- Start on a Sunday or Monday so that you still have your weekend!
- It is not recommended that you drink anything besides water/ the provided teas, however if you are a coffee drinker a cup of black coffee is allowed!
- The L-Drink doesn’t taste great by itself so mix the hibiscus tea bags (both) into it and let it still for a couple hours.
- Season your soup! I used pepper/ garlic salt in my minestrone soup and thought it tasted much better.
- Eat the nut bars as late in the morning as possible – they are absolutely DELICIOUS!
- Weight yourself the morning of your first day on the plan & then the morning after your 5th day for the most accurate measurements!
- Take advantage of the 10% off offer with code “LaurynLately” – click here to shop!
All in all I would 100% recommend the program. I was gifted my first box and I liked it enough to purchase it (with my own money) a second time so if that doesn’t show you how amazing it is I don’t know what will!
