One of my favorite spring/summer trends are silk scarves! I love that they are somewhat a tribute to the past with their 1950’s vibe, however revamped for the 21st century. I think a good silk scarf is perfect for adding a little va-va-voom to any outfit, no matter the occasion. My favorite way to wear them is with a good ol trusty t-shirt (as you will see below) because scarves have the power to spice up anything, even a T-SHIRT! Below I am going to show you 3 ways that I like to style silk scarves as well as my fav scarves of the season.
The Pony-tail Wrap
This is my favorite way to wear a silk scarf. I love that it adds that effortless, cool girl vibe to my plain t-shirt (which I am obsessed with BTW and need in every color). For those with long hair I would opt for a longer hanging scarf and for those with shorter hair, you might want to wrap the scarf a few times to make the length a bit shorter. You can also do a cute messy bun if you prefer that over a pony-tail.
The Neckerchief
This is the epitome of 50’s girl style and I love it. Its super simple to do, just take a square silk scarf, fold it to create a triangular shape and then gradually fold the bottom of the triangle upwards in 1-inch increments until it creates a long rectangular shape. From there you simply tie it around your neck so that the ties are displayed in the front. Super easy- super fab.
The Purse Upgrade
I like to refer to this style trick as the “purse upgrade” because thats exactly what it does! It takes a simple, everyday purse and adds a bit of flair to it to match any outfit or look that you’re going for. Not only does this spice up your entire look, but it also allows you to change the entire look of a purse (aka save a little $$ on buying a new purse and just re-vamp your existing purse. This trend is a lifesaver. I am not a purse girl… I know, sue me. But for me, having a few purses is just fine. I am not one that needs a new bag 24/7 and so this trend really saves me. This scarf has dressed up my bag and transformed it for the better!
