Hi friends! As summer begins to creep up on us, I thought what better time to share my current fitness routine with you. There is nothing more motivating than trying on swimsuits and not being thrilled with what you see in the mirror, so a few weeks ago I decided to up my routine and (somewhat.. haha) change my eating habits. In this post I will share my routine, tips & tricks to staying motivated, and some great workout attire finds (pieces at all price ranges might I add!).
My current routine:
- Sunday: Rest day!
- Monday: Kayla Itsines Leg Day + 10 min of stairclimber
- Tuesday: Cardio (pick one below) + 15 min of abs
- 30 min jog on the treadmill (try to run as long as possible without stopping)
- 30 min run/walk (below)
- Sprints (30 second sprint/ 30 seconds standing on the side)- alternating for 15-30 min
- Wednesday: Kayla Itsines Arm Day
- Thursday: Cardio (pick one) + 30 min Back workout
- 30 min jog on treadmill (try to run as long as possible without stopping)
- 30 min on the elliptical (I put it on resistance level 6-8)
- 30 min cycling
- Friday: Kayla Itsines Ab Day
- Saturday: Rest day!
I am currently working my way through Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide 2.0 and its killer! I love her 12 week guides (you can purchase here). They force me to do exercises that I would normally skip at the gym (i.e. burpees/ jump squats/ push ups) that I absolutely HATE but that really make a difference in your body. For that I am grateful. Below is my FAV go-to treadmill workout. Y’all I have been doing this same treadmill workout for 6 years now because its that good. It is difficult, but its much easier than most that you find when you google search “treadmill workouts.” I enjoy it so much because it allows me to walk some and thats always a plus (while burning an incredible amount of calories). No joke I do this once a week…
The BEST Treadmill Workout

*** An easy way to think about this treadmill workout is that you are alternating running and walking every minute (besides the first 5 min and the last 3 min). Each time you increase the incline by one FULL (not half) level, you are decreasing the speed by 0.2. You will pick up on it after the first few times, trust me.
How I stay motivated
I would be flat out lying if I told you that I didn’t have off days. I have days where I don’t workout because I am busy or because I just don’t feel like it… but I always come back the next time and push myself harder because of it.The easiest way for me to stay motivated is to have an accountability partner. In college, my best friend and I worked out daily and we pushed each other so hard that we saw results quickly. Working out with a buddy that has the same goals as you is the biggest key factor in seeing results fast.
Nowadays I don’t have an accountability partner, so I give myself ultimatums. This might seem silly, but its what works for me. On weekdays when I feel like skipping I tell myself “thats fine, go ahead and skip BUT you have to make it up on the weekend… and do you really want to skip the mexican food and margs to go workout OR do you just want to get it done today instead?” No joke this is the conversation I have with myself (because I’m a weirdo and it works)!
Another way to stay motivated is to purchase cute workout attire. This sounds really superficial and silly, but when you look good you feel good and its a motivation factor that truly helps! Below I have listed some cute workout attire options (of all price ranges!) that will not only make you look good in the gym, but also make you feel good and work harder while you’re there.
