When it comes to beauty products I am so picky. I have tried so many different products and have round up some of my favs that I can wait to share with you. The easiest way I can think about doing this is by breaking them up monthly based on my hair/skin needs during that month. I don’t know about you, but my beauty routine changes pretty drastically each season and so the following products are my January picks! These are my ride or die beauty items that I HIGHLY recommend:
1. St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse ($32 for 4 oz/ $42 for 8 oz) – I have tried SO many self tanners and this one is by far my favorite. I prefer the mousse version over the mist and the lotion because it glides on so smoothly and it is easier for me to identify any streaks before its too late! I love to use a good self-tanner during the winter to give me a slight tint because I get sooooo pale in the summer. One thing to remember is that it does not come with a mitt and you NEED a mitt to apply the self tanner so that it does not turn your hands orange. You can purchase the St. Tropez mitt here for $6.50
2. Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer ($195.00) – Okay so I’m going to be honest with you guys… I have ALWAYS had cheap drugstore hair dryers and have never really had an issue with them. Recently I saw some advertisements about this hairdryer and decided to give it a try. Y’all…. this dryer works wonders! Not only does it dry my hair in half the time, but it keeps it so smooth and silky feeling. It was hard for me to invest in a hair dryer but I am so glad I did because I dry my hair so often and this dryer has improved my hair so much.
3. Ponds Hydrating Dry Skin Cream ($7.89) – This is a drugstore product that you can buy at any Walgreens, Target, Walmart, you name it- they probably have it. This is the perfect facial moisturizer for the cold January temps that are so harsh on my fair skin. I am always hesitant to purchase moisturizers because I never want them to break me out but this product has not causes breakouts (that I know of) so far! I like to apply a thin layer after I wash my face at night before bed. I will also occasionally apply under my make-up if my skin is super dry.
4. Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid ($29) – This line of colored concealers by Urban Decay is amazing. On Sephora’s website you can choose a concealer based on your skin’s needs. For me, redness is a common issue not only for breakouts but also for my rosy cheeks that I have had my whole life. This green concealer counteracts with the redness to subdue it on days that I need a little extra help!
5. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo ($23) – I have never really been a big fan of dry shampoo (super unpopular opinion- I know) but its never really been a necessity because I wash my hair 90% of the time due to the fact that I have thin straight hair and skipping washes is so hard! I have tried other products and this seems to be the best dry shampoo that I have found thus far. If it works on my fine, thin hair then I’m sure it’ll work wonders on others.
6. Tory Burch Love Relentlessly ($88) – Loving this scent this season! It is the perfect strength of perfume and lasts for hours. Definite January fav!
7. Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask ($55) – This has been a life changing product! I have never really had much of an issue with breakouts however I do occasionally get cystic-like acne on my chin area that last up to a month at a time! This mask is so amazing… You can either apply it and let it dry for a while before washing off OR you can spot treat and leave it on all night like I prefer. This is a must have product and it works for all skin types (oily, dry, combination- you name it!).
